The Sointula location of Musiikkikoulu Musiikkitoteemi will be closed. All teaching and music playschool (muskari) currently held there will move to Tahmela starting on 7 January 2026. The schedules for the muskaris will remain unchanged, and the times for individual lessons will be reviewed before the start of the spring term, although they are also expected to remain the same.

The City of Tampere has decided to sell the Sointula premises. The building in question is a more than 100-year-old former office building of the Winter paint factory, located in Winterinmutka in Epilä. Maija Salo founded a music school there in 1986, and between 2007 and 2024 the operations were run by two different cooperatives. Musiikkitoteemi operated in Sointula from the autumn term of 2024 onwards.

The move from Sointula had originally been planned for summer 2026, but in autumn 2025 a few teachers began to experience indoor air–related symptoms. No findings were made in the indoor air studies previously conducted by the city, but a person who has been exposed before is the most sensitive indicator. In order to ensure the safety of our staff and customers, it has been decided to close the Sointula location immediately rather than prolonging its use until summer.

Teaching moves to Tahmela

Kaikki Sointulan opetus siirtyy Tahmelan Toteemilaan 7.1.2026 alkaen. Siellä sijainnut toimisto vapautuu opetuskäyttöön, ja opetukset ovat toteutettavissa ainakin pääosin syksyn 2025 kaltaisesti. Muskareiden aikatauluihin ei tule muutoksia, mutta Karoliinan tilalla aloittaa Sanna, joka opettaa myös saksofonia ja huilua. Mikäli soitto- tai laulutunnin aika vaatisi muutosta, opettajasi ottaa sinuun yhteyttä. Tiedotamme aikatauluasioista vielä erikseen ennen kevätkauden alkua.

• By bus: TKL line 10, stop Hirvikatu (next to Tahmela shopping center)
• By car: parking is available in the shopping center parking area and along Selininkatu; the area directly in front of the door is for drop-off only
• Entrance: door 2; ring the doorbell with the right nameplate
• Shoes and outdoor clothing: leave them either in the entrance or in the lobby
• Please arrive on time—especially for muskari, it is best if everyone is ready before the lesson begins. However, due to limited waiting space, please do not arrive more than 10 minutes early. There is no longer a playroom like the one in Sointula.
